The role:
The CFD Modelling Intern will assist in the simulation and analysis of fluid dynamics related to our advanced precision pesticide sprayer. You will work closely with our engineering team to model, analyse, and optimise the performance of our systems so that we get maximum crop protection with minimum resources.
This is primarily an on-site role due to the nature of the work however there is the opportunity for some hybrid work.
Key responsibilities:

Conduct computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to analyse fluid flow within our sprayer.

Collaborate with engineers to refine models based on experimental data and feedback.

Assist in the design and execution of experiments to validate CFD models.

Document and present findings to the rest of the team.

Collaborate closely with other functions including mechanical engineers, software developers, and others to deliver integrated solutions that meet our product goals.

Help with prototype and product assembly, conduct testing, validation, and troubleshooting of airflow systems to ensure performance and reliability at our workshop and at test and customer vineyards.

Document designs, specifications, test procedures, and results for internal and external stakeholders.

We're looking for someone who:

Is currently pursuing or has recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field with a focus on fluid dynamics.

Has experience with CFD software (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM).

Shows a keen interest in the application of CFD modelling to solve real-world problems.

Has excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Has excellent communication skills, capable of documenting and presenting ideas clearly.

If you are successful at this stage, we'll arrange an initial phone/video call where one of the team will explain the position, introduce Cordon and get to know a little bit more about you (30 minutes).
Successful candidates at this stage will then be invited to an on-site interview, including hands-on activity, and presentation of a previously prepared technical task. They will also meet the rest of the team with tea/coffee (2.5 hours).
