The role:

As a Sustainability Funding (Grant Writing) Intern at Cordon, you will play a crucial role in securing funding that supports our groundbreaking projects. You'll work closely with our teams to identify grant opportunities, prepare compelling applications, and manage submissions. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for sustainability and innovation, looking to gain experience in grant writing and funding strategies in the agri-tech sector.

 

Key responsibilities:
  • Research and identify grant opportunities relevant to Cordon’s projects and mission.

  • Assist in writing, editing, and submitting high-quality grant proposals and applications.

  • Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to gather necessary information and ensure proposals meet grant requirements.

  • Help maintain a database of grant opportunities, submissions, and outcomes.

  • Support the team in grant reporting and compliance, ensuring all funding agreements are met.

  • Embrace continuous learning, foster a culture of curiosity and resilience, approaching challenges with humility and a problem-solving mindset.

  • Champion honesty and collaboration, contributing to an environment where feedback is welcomed and every team member feels valued.

 

We're looking for someone who:
  • Embodies our core values of curiosity, problem solving, resilience, humility, emotional intelligence, and commitment to collaboration.

  • Is currently pursuing or has recently completed a degree in English, Communications, Environmental Science, or a related field.

  • Has experience crafting successful grant applications.

  • Has excellent writing, editing, and research skills, with the ability to craft clear, persuasive narratives.

  • Demonstrates a keen interest in sustainability, agriculture, and technology.

  • Is organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple deadlines.

  • Exhibits strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

If you are successful at this stage, we'll arrange an initial phone/video call where one of the team will explain the position, introduce Cordon and get to know a little bit more about you (30 minutes).

 

Successful candidates at this stage will then be invited to an on-site interview, including hands-on activity, and presentation of a previously prepared technical task. They will also meet the rest of the team with tea/coffee (2.5 hours).
